How I Decided To Buy GE Night Light
Like most South Asian families, I co-slept with all my children for the first few years of their
life. The older two moved into their respective rooms when the new baby arrived. All of my
children have a four-year gap between them and so the older two both moved into their
own spaces at that age. With the little last one too, I expected to follow the same pattern.
But with a scoliosis surgery scheduled soon after he had turned three, I realized I wouldn’t
have the energy to put up with being kicked in the stomach or have an elbow land on my
face even during the night. It was about time all of us experienced what a deep good night’s
sleep was.
As much as I felt this would be a difficult decision for me as well, I decided to try and
transition him to his own room two months before the surgery was scheduled. As luck
would have it, it tied up around the same time that I was also trying to wean him off his
diaper. This meant repeated trips to the bathroom, both during the day and at night.
Since this wasn’t my first rodeo, moving him to his room didn’t seem stupendously difficult.
Thankfully my eldest also helped by reading to her brother some nights, and we all really
hyped up how he was becoming a big independent boy and was going to sleep in his bed all
alone. My concern arose when I realized he may need to wake up in the middle of the night
to go relieve himself in the bathroom.
Brighten up your home with the GE-branded Light-Sensing LED Night Light. Housing an energy-efficient LED, the night light produces a bright, daylight quality, light (5000K) — great for illuminating your nighttime routine. Featuring a contemporary design with a glossy white finish, it will fit in perfectly in bedrooms, staircases, hallways, bathrooms and more.
I made sure the path from his bed to his bathroom was clear of any furniture and then
realized that if he woke up from his sleep and saw absolute darkness, the chances of him
getting scared were reasonably mounted. In my own bedroom, the air conditioning unit
emitted a small green light and for years, that’s what had been serving as my night light. But
with my son now moving independently, I realized I would most likely have to get him a new
one.
My search for a reasonably priced yet high-utility night lamp led me to the GE LED night
light. The price was less than $10 so I placed the order without thinking too much
about it. But once it arrived, I have to say I was thoroughly impressed with its performance.
My Review – Is GE Night Light Worth To Buy?
Simple Design:
The device had a sleek design and the plug-and-go feature was as simple as it could have gotten. This also meant the light could be placed anywhere from the children’s bedroom to the stairway to the lounge. Any place where one might need a little illumination at night.
Energy Efficient:
The night light is incredibly energy efficient, using only a small amount of electricity to provide a comforting and warm light in the dark. I really appreciated this feature, as it helps to save money on my energy bills while still providing a much-needed light source in my home.
Light Sensor:
Another great feature of the GE LED Night Light is its accurate light sensor. The night light is able to detect the amount of light in the room and adjust its brightness accordingly. This is particularly helpful especially when coupled with the plug in turn on feature because it means you do not have to remove the night light from the socket in the mornings, It will detect the brightness and go off itself. Alternately, the night light automatically dims itself in a dark room and brightens up as the room gets lighter, which is incredibly convenient.
Space Saving Socket Design:
The night light is designed in such a way that it can be plugged in to hide an entire socket or be placed in a single receptacle freeing up space for other devices. This is great for unsightly sockets that you may want to permanently hide, while also working great for people who have a shortage of electrical sockets in their rooms and want to get maximum utility out of whatever is available. I gave one of these night lights to my niece as well and she said it was great for her college dorm room because she didn’t need to remove her phone charger out to plug it in.
As a parent, I think the GE LED Night Light is an essential item to have in the home. It
provides a soft and gentle light that is perfect for children who may be afraid of the dark.
The energy efficiency of the light also means that I don’t have to worry about the cost of
leaving it on throughout the night. The accurate light sensor also means that the night light
will not disturb my child’s sleep by being too bright, which is a huge plus for me. All in All, it
provides great value for money for the utility it provides.
My Review Over Features:
Energy Efficient: With only 6 watts, the light will add no extra burden to your electricity
cost.
Sleek Design: The sleek design ensures aesthetics without compromising on functionality.
Light Sensor: The automatic light sensor ensures light does not need to be removed or manually
adjusted for brightness.
Value for Money: Just under ten dollars, it will not be heavy on the pocket for the
convenience it offers.
